Colonial Challenge & Autumn Gold Recap

Christiansburg, VA - The 460 Lacrosse club went out on the road this weekend to compete at the Autumn Gold (HS) and the Colonial Challenge (12U, 2028, 2027).  It was a great weekend including 2nd place finishes from the 12U Red and 2028 Red and a Championship for the 2027 Red team.

First up on Saturday the High School team headed to Autumn Gold, a high level recruiting event, to get some looks from college coaches.  They dropped their first game to the Top 10 ranked Carolina Miners.  In their second game v Utah Summit the battled the entire way before falling by 1 and they finished the day with a loss to the Hammer Elite.  Strong fight was shown despite missing two starters and the team grew each game.

On Sunday the youth teams battled in the Colonial Challenge.  All three teams got convincing victories in their first games of the day with the 2028's avenging a loss over the summer to the 757 Select.  Each team would advance to the championship game.  The 2028's got down 7-1 at halftime before storming back but running out of time to lose 8-7.  The 12U gave up two early before battling to a 6-3 finish.  The 2027's took the lead early and despite a frenzy at the end were able to finish the game in a Braveheart to take home the ship.

"I am extremely proud of our program" stated Founder Panchito Ojeda.  "We continue to grow and build our culture each and everyday.  These results are a product of that continued hardwork. We will stay hungry and stay humble as we head to North Carolina this upcoming weekend."
